Gardens and Grounds
The Bath House Spa opened at New Park Manor Hotel in November 2005 and the opportunity arose to re-develop the gardens to support the transformation of the Hotel and Spa. The general theme of the new front garden is of a countryside setting with a modern edge. The character of the New Forest is evoked in drifts of heather and moor grass, dotted with Pine and Birch set amongst the mature oaks. This heathland is softened and given a contemporary feel by swathes of ornamental grasses and herbaceous planting which build up to a peak in late summer. The atmosphere is heightened in the evenings with the use of special mood lighting.
At the back of the Spa a wide deck looks out over the meadows and distant woods. The deck and patio are surrounded by the Bath House Spa garden where a selection of shrubs and herbs are grown – many of which are used in the spa itself and form part of the organic treatments prepared for the guests.
More formal gardens are to be found beyond the hotel frontage. These three acres of gardens overlooking New Park’s deer park incorporate a croquet lawn and an open air pool area. It is here that guests enjoy wedding receptions, summer BBQs, family celebrations and corporate team building events – all within sight of herds of roaming deer and the famous New Forest ponies.
